GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO GIVE INCENTIVES FOR DIGITAL TRANSACTIONS MADE AFTER NOVEMBER 8

After the government has announced its decision to demonetize 500 and 1000 rupee currency notes from the circulation,Almost every sections of the society are facing the cash crunch.As part of the Government steps to minimize the demonetization effect,the government has come up with two schemes to encourage digital transactions in the country.

US FEDERAL RESERVE HIKES INTEREST RATES

USA's central bank Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the second time in a decade signaled a faster pace of increases in 2017 as central bankers adapted to the incoming Trump Administration promises of tax cuts,spending and Deregulation.

Federal reserve increases its funds rate to a range between 0.50% and 0.75% from the range of 0.25% to 0.5%.

CHOLAMANDALAM ENTERS INTO PACT WITH DENA BANK.

Cholamandalam Ms General insurance co.Ltd has entered into a corporate agency agreement with Dena bank to distribute the former's General insurance products.

Under the Agreement Cholamandalam will offer a wide range of non life insurance products to Dena bank customers through its nation wide branch network

RAJHYA SABHA PASSES DISABILITIES BILL 2016

The Rajhya sabha passed the disabilities bill with the list of disabilities expanded from seven to 21 and then quantum of reservation increased for people suffering from 3% to 4% in government jobs.

UBER LAUNCHES UBER MOTO TWO WHEELER SERVICE IN HYDERABAD

US based taxi aggregator Uber has launched its two wheeler commuting platform Uber Moto in Hyderabad.The co founder of Uber was promoting the new service that will serve also as last mile connectivity for the Hyderabad metro rail services when they open next year.

Uber CEO Travis kalanick states that the fare range would be 20 Rupees for the initial 3 km and Rupees 5 per km thereafter.

CENTRE GIVES 0.75% DISCOUNT FOR FUEL IF CUSTOMER PAYS THROUGH CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS

The centre announced that customers buying petrol and diesel at state run petrol bunks would get a discount of 0.75% if they paid using credit card or debit card from December 13 onwards.

The discounted amount directly credited to customer's bank amount with in 3 working days.

PSU oil marketing companies have been working closely with banks,e-wallet companies and service providers since the announcement and are now pleased to advise that the above would be implemented effective midnight tonight.

VENEZUELA DEMONETISES 100 BOLIVAR BANK NOTES

1.Venezuela will pull its largest bill worth two US cents on the black market from circulation this week ,a head of introducing new higher value notes,president Nicholas maduro announced.

2.Nicholas maduro said 100 bolivar notes will be taken out of circulation and  the citizens will have 10 days to exchange these notes at the central bank.

In an attempt to encourage cashless transactions post demonetisation, the government of India has launched TV channel Digishala, to educate people on various modes of electronic payments including e-wallets and mobile banking.

Digishala is a free to air channel and would be broadcast nationally on DD Free dish DTH service.

RELIANCE JIO MAY EXTEND ITS FREE SERVICES BY 3 MONTHS(MARCH 2017)

We are all very thankful and grateful to the services provided by the new Service provider Reliance Jio.Mukesh Ambani's JIO launched country wide on September 5th with Unlimited Data,voice and SMS for 3 months i.e December 31st.According to News paper Mint.Reliance Jio free services will be extended by another 3 months i.e March 2017.

Amid the rising criticism to discontinue the circulation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes,RBI is going to release new 2000 rupee circulation note soon.The country's central bank,RBI has already made its preparations to bring into circulation.The printing of these notes has been completed at the Mysuru currency printing facility.

Till now, the highest value of currency note was 10000 rupees and it was printed in 1938 and 1954.RBI has demonetized these notes in 1946 and 1978.

In India,currency notes are printed in Nashik,Dewas,Mysore and Salboni.The Government of India decides the quantity of notes to be minted.

It costs a little more than 3 rupees to produce a 1000 rupee note,the lowest in terms of printing cost against the currency value.

MOU BETWEEN INDIAN RAILWAYS AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY

2.The 315 tonne INS Tihayu is the 6th of the WJFAC Car Nicobar class vessel to be commissioned and allotted to the Eastern Naval fleet.

3.The ship is built by Kolkata based Garden Reached Ship Builders(GRSE).Tihayu is the 20th vessel in this class to be built by the shiyard.

CENTRE PROPOSES NEW GST TAX RATES

1.The centre has proposed a four slab rate structure for the Goods and service tax, ranging from 0% to 26% at a meeting of the GST council on Tuesday.

TATA AND GE TO TRAIN 10000 IN HEALTH SECTOR

1.TATA trusts and GE health care have entered into an agreement to train 10000 youth in various technical areas of the health sector in three years.

2.The partnership aimed at bridging the skills gap among health care staff in technical operating roles.

3.As per the agreement,GE healthcare will expand its network of training institutes from 10 to 25 across the country while tata trusts will provide interest free loans of 86,000 rupees per candidate to cover the course fee for the entire year.

                                      

RDIF WILL INVEST $1 BILLION INDIA

1.Russia state backed Russian Direct Investment Fund(RDIF) will work with an Indian fund to invest $1 billion in India.

2.The RDIF and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund(NIIF) will each invest up to $500 million in the joint fund.

UBER AND CENTRAL GOVERNMENT INKS PACT TO IMPART SKILL TRAINING

1.Uber has signed an agreement with Ministry of Electronics and IT to use Common Service Centres(CSCs) to impart skill training to drivers.

2.Through this agreement Uber aims to  ensure that people who come to these CSCs especially at the grass root level,gain access to tools, training resources and related information for becoming a driver on its platform.

CENTRE TO SET UP 2000 CRORE CREDIT GUARANTEE CORPUS FUND FOR START UPS

1.The Centre will soon set up a 2000 crore Credit Guarantee Fund to support start ups,Department of Industry and Policy promotion(DIPP) secretary Ramesh Abhishek said.

2.This corpus of 2000 crore will be provided up to 80% risk cover for collateral free credit being given by banks and financial institutions for start ups. 

BANGLADESH AND CHINA SIGNED AGREEMENTS WORTH $13 BILLION.

1.Bangladesh and China have signed deals worth over $13 billion mainly covering infrastructure and energy sectors,in addition to the $20 billion in loan agreements the two governments signed during China's president Xi jinpng visit to Bangladesh.  

ANDHRA PRADESH AND RUSSIA INKS TWO AGREEMENTS

1.The Andhra Pradesh Economic development board(EDB) signed two agreements with Russian corporations in the presence of Russian president Vladimir putin and Prime minister of of India, Narendra Modi.

2.The first MoU was with United Shipping corporation(USC) for construction of Ship building in the state.

3.The second MoU was with Alexeev's central Hydrofoil Design Bureau,Radar MMS and Morinsis-AGAT and Elcom Systems private limited for setting up manufacturing and servicing facilities in the respective areas of specialization.

RUSSIA AND INDIA SIGNED 16 IMPORTANT AGREEMENTS

1.India and Russia signed 16 important agreements including the one on S-400 missile systems, a game changer in countering air borne threats.

2.A part from the intergovernmental agreement on the missile systems worth-39,000 crore-Russia also agreed to sell Kamov 226-T helicopters and 4 krivak class stealth frigates in India.

3.The kamov helicopters will be Manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics ltd(HAL) and Rostec state corporation of Russia.

CENTRE CUTS SMALL SAVINGS INTEREST RATES

1. The centre announced a cut of 0.1 percentage points in the interest rates on small savings schemes including public provident fund,Kisan vikas patra,senior citizens scheme,sukanaya samriddhi yojana and National savings certificates for the period October 1-December 31,2016.
2. However,the rate on savings account has kept unchanged at 4%.
3. The centre has reduced the interest rates of small savings accounts in March 2016.

Here are the new interest rates:-
